Dyersburg Man Killed In Alabama Plane Crash

Cullman County, Alabama–A Dyersburg man died in a plane crash near Cullman Regional Airport in Alabama Saturday night.

The victim has been identified as John Sigman, age 70.

According to local news reports, the aircraft caught on fire and crashed into woods near the Cullman airport around 6 p.m. Saturday. The FAA identified the aircraft as a Piper PA-32.

Two people were aboard and Sigman was the pilot of the aircraft.

According to the Cullman Times, the passenger was Frederick Dawson Holloway of Cullman and he was seriously injured in the crash.

The Cullman Times reported that Sigman’s family said Sigman had come to Cullman with an interest in purchasing the aircraft.

The FAA will investigate the crash and the NTSB will determine the probable cause of the accident.
