ky-ice-wrecks

Kentucky roads in our area are already treacherous, with one fatality reported in the Land Between The Lakes area of Trigg County, roads blocked, semis jacknifed and multiple wrecks

As of 8 a.m., the KY Transportation Cabinet was reporting 1-24 is blocked in both directions.

Trigg County Emergency Management reports both directions of travel on U.S. 68/KY 80 are blocked by a fatality crash at the Woodland Trace interchange in the Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area.  This is along U.S. 68 at the 3 mile marker in Trigg County.

Traffic is being detoured down the ramps, across the Woodland Trace, and back onto U.S. 68/KY 80.

Kentucky State Police have been asked to conduct a crash reconstruction investigation at this site.

Numerous highways were blocked in Lyon County due to icing on bridges and overpasses.
There are multiple semi crashes along Interstate 24 and Interstate 69.

As KYTC personnel have been able to make their way through traffic to salt bridges and overpasses travel conditions at the cleared locations have improved fairly quickly.
