Cottage Grove House Fire Contained To Chimney

Cottage Grove, Tenn.–A chimney fire caused damage to a home on Main Street in Cottage Grove Tuesday evening.
The Cottage Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 7170 Main St. around 8 p.m. on a report of a structure fire.
Fire Chief John Weiher told RadioNWTN said no one was injured in the fire, which started in the flue of the chimney.
The fire department arrived quickly and the fire was contained to the chimney area, he said.  From Cottage Grove, 2 Engines, 3 Tankers, and Crash 14 responded along with 20 firefighters. Como-Ore springs assisted mutual aid with 2 Tankers and 5 firefighters.
The scene was cleared around 10:15 p.m.
