Paris, Tenn.-Nine Seniors made local history Friday night as the first Henry County Virtual Academy graduates at a ceremony for families and friends held at the Owens Event Center.
As Principal Daniel Armstrong welcomed guests he also addressed the graduates telling them how proud he was to be a part of their journey but much prouder of their ability to overcome obstacles and finish high school.
Armstrong said, “Tonight, we saw proof that what we have been doing for the last 6 months at HCVA matters. We are so proud of the very first graduates of Henry County Virtual Academy.”
As previously reported, after the Christmas break, Armstrong will begin as Henry School Principal and Robin House will step into the position of Virtual Academy Principal.
Each student was presented their diploma and was given the opportunity to gift their graduation sash to a person who made a difference in their education career. Honor Student Michael Quinn read the poem “The Graduate” for everyone.
