Paris, Tenn.–As reported earlier, the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction will go on in 2021, but with a different format. The Helping Hand Board is now ready to announce the format for this year’s auction and Forever Communications is ready to announce how we will be participating.
The Helping Hand Board had to make the tough decision to cancel the traditional format for the Radio Auction due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Bid Last And Win will be teaming up with Helping Hand for a series of four Online/Virtual Simulcast Auctions.
Our radio stations will be conducting interviews with Helping Hand board members and charity representatives and those interviews will air every afternoon on WTPR from January 9-February 5.
Segments of those interviews will be broadcast on our other stations and auction updates will air on all five of our radio stations.
Bid Last and Win Auctioneer and Owner Junior Staggs said, “Our goal is 150 lots for each Auction. While the format will be a little different than we’re used to, the goal of the 2021 Henry County Helping Hand Virtual Auction is still the same: BID High and BID OFTEN.”
Helping Hand President Stacy Hayes said, “We’re going to do our best to slow the spread of Covid 19 by limiting our person to person contact as much as possible. We’re also encouraging everyone to get creative with your auction items as we will be limiting our perishable items to home canned goods.”
Bidding for the first Auction will begin January 12 and convert to a Virtual Auction, where you can WATCH, LISTEN AND BID ONLINE from your Phone, Tablet, Computer or Smart Device/TV, at NOON on FRIDAY, January 15.
(Virtual Auction Dates are January 15, 22, 29 and February 5)
Helping Hand will use the following format for the entire four weeks:
- Drop Off Auction Items Saturday (9AM-NOON)
- ONLINE Pre Bidding Opens Tuesday at NOON
- Virtual Auction BEGINS Friday at NOON
- Pickup/Payment FRIDAY for 3 hours following the close of the Auction.
