Camden, Tenn.–The US Marshals moved Jason Autry from the Benton County Jail to federal custory this morning following his federal indictment Thursday for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The indictment was served on Autry today in the Benton County Jail and he was transported directly to federal court.
Benton County Sheriff Ken Christopher said Autry was transported after that to a facility in Obion County that can hold federal prisoners.
Autry was arrested earlier this month after being spotted by Deputy Stacey Bostwick lying in a field near his current residence in Holladay. A rifle was found where Autry had been on the ground and he told Bostwick he was attempting to shoot a deer with the gun, and that he hid in the field when he observed the deputy’s patrol car.
Autry has several prior felony convictions, including Facilitation of Especially Aggravated Kidnapping and Solicitation of First Degree Murder, which arose out of the abduction and murder of Holly Bobo in Decatur County in April 2011.
