Paris, Tenn.–Workers are busy today installing the ice skating rink for Saturday’s Downtown Christmas Festival in Paris. The festival also will feature a 30 foot inflatable slide, food trucks, a brass quintet, and of course, Santa Claus. The 30 foot by 40 foot synthetic ice skating rink is located in the parking lot between Blythe Street and the Downtown Plaza. Normal capacity for the rink is 40 people, but out of an abundance of caution, only 15 skaters will be allowed at one time. Participants will pay $10 each, which includes their skate rental, for a twenty minute session. The rink will open at 10 AM and be available in thirty minute increments until 9 PM. Face coverings are strongly encouraged and temperatures will be taken before participating. Reservations can be made by visiting lightupparistn.com. (April Moore photo).
