Puryear Man Indicted For First Degree Murder

Paris, Tenn.–A Puryear man was indicted at a Henry County special grand jury Wednesday on charges of first degree murder, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.

James Caddell, age 75, was arrested in August 2020 for the death of his wife Stella, who was 68.

He is being held without bond in the Henry County Jail.

At Wednesday’s grand jury, 26 presentments were made to the jury, with 24 true bills and two no true bills issued.

In other indictments:

Kevin Dodd, age 28 of Powell St., charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment following an incident October 24 in downtown Paris in which drivers were shooting at each other. Dodd was taken into custody in early November by the Paris Police, Henry Co. Sheriff’s Office, TBI and U.S. Marshals.

Adam Clements, charged with one count aggravated assault and two counts assault.

Matthew Clements, one count aggravated assault and one count assault.

Emily Powers, attempted 2nd degree murder, aggravated assault and assault stemming from an incident August 17, 2019.

Malik Jones, multiple counts aggravated cruelty to animals and cruelty to animals.

Brittany Schaf, multiple counts aggravated cruelty to animals and cruelty to animals.

Delano Williams, aggravated child abuse, stemming from an incident May 30, 2018.

As always, the bulk of the indictments were on theft and drug charges.
