COVID-19 strikes again.
Due to another outbreak of the coronavirus at Lake County High School, Tuesday’s (Dec. 8) Union City games at Tiptonville have been postponed.
Those District 13A contests have been rescheduled for Dec. 14, the girls’ game starting at 6 p.m., with the boys’ game to follow.
Lake County athletics twice was forced to shut down during football season due to positive COVID-19 tests. The season-opening contest between UC and LC was one of the casualties of that quarantine period and was not made up.
Lake County will still take a makeshift roster to Troy Friday night to play Obion Central when the Rebel homecourt will be renamed in honor of legendary head coach Jimmy Whitby.
Union City will open the home portion of its schedule Saturday night against Covington.
The Tornado teams now will play just once next week – at Greenfield, Dec. 11.
