Union City, Tenn.–The Union City Elementary School PTO was the recipient of a generous deed and donation from Allen’s Paint and Supply recently.
Owners Bucky and Stephanie Allen, whose daughter, Olivia, is a kindergarten student at UCES, presented a $500 check to Principal David Byars to pass on to the school support organization.
The Allens raised the money by giving away barbecue sandwiches and chips and charging $1 for a drink to go with the meal. The response was overwhelming, with one group — from Wayne’s Auto Repair and Towing in Union City — writing a check for $200 to help support the cause.
“We just wanted to give back to the community and our school system,” Bucky said.
The Union City Elementary School PTO uses donations and fund-raising money to help provide for needs of students and staff at the school.
