Murray State University administration, including President Dr. Bob Jackson continue to visit area high schools to share more about the University’s offerings and overall college experience with prospective college students, as well as providing updates on important partnerships between Murray State and school districts.
Most recently, Jackson, along with Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Tim Todd and Dean of the College of Education and Human Services Dr. David Whaley, visited Christian County High School in Hopkinsville on Oct. 26. They were joined by former Murray State Board of Regents Chair and mayor of Hopkinsville Dan Kemp, current Board of Regents Chair Jerry Rhoads and Board of Regents member Virginia Gray as well as Christopher Bentzel, Christian County Public Schools Superintendent.
The visit covered enhanced partnerships between the University and Christian County schools, such as Murray State’s teacher certification program as well as academic programs offered at the University’s Hopkinsville Regional Campus.
Another important partnership between the University and numerous high schools is the Racer Academy dual-credit program, which provides a nationally-ranked educational experience for high school juniors and seniors who are looking to get ahead in their college experience. Students can meet their high school course requirements while earning college credits at the same time. High school visits such as these allow prospective students to learn more about the University’s academic programs, test-optional admissions process, scholarship and financial aid opportunities, campus life and much more.
