Jackson, Tenn.–West Tennessee Healthcare CEO James Ross announced during a Madison County COVID-19 briefing this morning that Jackson-Madison County General Hospital can no longer accept patient transfers due to the increase in active COVID-19 patients.
Ross said the hospital is treating 103 COVID-19 patients at the hospital currently. He said the 20 counties in West Tennessee is reporting over 8,000 active cases over the past 10 days.
“It’s a sobering day,” Ross said during the briefing.
Ross warned the hospital is under a ‘critical advisory’ and cannot accept transfers from its satellite hospitals in Camden, Dyersburg, Martin, and Bolivar.
