Henry, Tenn.—A Henry man is being held in the Henry County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and harassment of hunters after incidents Sunday. His bond is set at $12,500.
Sean Oliver, age 28, of 287 Meadows Rd., was arrested by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and TWRA on Monday. He is charged with harassment of hunters who were in Henry County for a hunting trip.
According to the sheriff’s report, the harassment began Sunday morning as Oliver shined a flashlight at one of the hunters near a deer stand, fired a gunshot into the ground and began shouting. The hunters explained they own the property they were hunting on.
The hunters called the sheriff’s office and Sgt. Wayne Fuqua organized a meeting between the hunters and Oliver at which it appeared a peaceful resolution had been met. However, the report indicates Oliver again harassed the hunters, causing a disturbance with gunshots and yelling. Oliver’s property is reportedly near where the hunters were.
According to the report, the harassment continued as the hunters tried to approach their deer stands throughout the day and into Monday. At this point, the TWRA also became involved and TWRA Officer Greg Barker assisted in the arrest.
