Paris, Tenn.–Henry County Sheriff-Elect Josh Frey will be submitting his resignation from the Henry County Schools board of education at tonight’s meeting and the county commission will begin accepting nominations for his replacement on the board later this month.

County Mayor Brent Greer said when the county commission meets November 23, it will officially declare the school board position open and begin accepting nominations. Greer said any Henry County citizen can be nominated for the position.

The Henry County Election Commission will meet at 4:30 p.m. November 23 to officially certify results of the November 3 election and it is most likely that Frey will be sworn in at the county commission meeting that begins at 5 p.m.

Swearing-in of County Mayor-Elect John Penn Ridgeway will be held December 1, Greer said, which is at Ridgeway’s request. “He requested that I stay on until then because he had some work at TCAT that he wanted to finish before the swearing in,” Greer said.
