Downtown Paris Shooting Suspect Arrested Again

Paris, Tenn.–A Cottage Grove man who was a suspect in a shooting incident in downtown Paris in October was arrested again over the weekend.

Duke Ward, age 21, of 6210 Hwy. 140, Cottage Grove, was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm during a traffic stop Saturday. Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Gary Carroll stopped Ward near the Henry County Airport on Hwy. 69 for driving 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.

During a search of the vehicle, Sgt. Carroll discovered a Springfield Armory 9mm pistol that had been listen as stolen by NCIC.

Earlier, Ward had been charged with attempted second degree murder and reckless endangerment by Paris Police after the shooting incident in downtown Paris October 24.

Ward’s bond has now been revoked.
