
Mayfield, Ky.–A Calloway County man was convicted of sexual abuse of a minor at the conclusion a Graves County Jury Trial Thursday.
John Williams, age 59, of Murray, was found guilty of first degree sexual abuse (of a victim under 12) and first degree persistent felony offender. Williams is accused of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl from April 2014 through February 2015.
In previous court appearances, he had been convicted on multiple counts of rape and multiple counts of use of a minor in a sexual performance. He also was convicted of failing to comply with the sex offender registration.
He will be sentenced later; the jury recommended the maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
