Union City, Tenn.–A total of 44 sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students were recently inducted into the Jr. Beta Club in ceremonies at Union City Middle School.
Each new inductee was recognized and received their certificate and pin after Vice Principal Allison Palmer welcomed the students and their parents.
New member Brandt Huffstutter led the Pledge of Allegiance prior to the new members being recognized.
After all certificates and pins were presented to the inductees, the Beta Club members, in unison, recited the Jr. Beta pledge.
New inductees included:
8th Grade: Allysia Davis, Claire Frilling, Lexi Petty, Maya Runions and Beck Tanner.
7th Grade: Tayshun Gentry, Ashton Minor and Kirben Thompson.
6th Grade: Madde Allen, Tolar Armstrong, Andrew Beard, Layton Courtright, Jenna Kate Cross, Uriah Davis, Stevee Dugger, Harrison Gray, Cole Gurley, Tabor Hall, Isaac Hardy, Nate Hawks, Ben Howell, Rori Howell, Brandt Huffstutter, Jaxson Jones, Kobe Kirk, Rachel Kate McClanahan, Briley Kate McKinney, Woodrow McKinnis, Emma Mobbs, Ja’Miyah Morris, Madison Pate, Sawyer Creek Roberson, Foster Rodgers, Braden Simpson, Grant Sinclair, Kinley Steele, Zak Summers, Edith Tanner, Paul Martin Tohn, Britton Tully, Ka’Liyana Ward, Kylie Willcutt, Sa’nya Wilson and Cadience Zoellner.
In all, there are now 34 eighth-grade members, 24 from the seventh grade and 36 members of the distinct fraternity in the sixth grade.
The criteria for membership includes students finishing their fifth-grade year with a numeric grade point average of 93 or above with a GPA of 90 or above required for advanced classes. Students may have no more than one “C” to qualify.
Club sponsors are Jennifer Bruff (sixth grade), Michele Huffstutter (seventh grade) and Brandy Tanner (eighth grade).
