
McKenzie, Tenn.–Funeral services for Bill and Alice Washburn of McKenzie have been set for Wednesday at Brummitt McKenzie Funeral home. The Washburn couple was killed in a two-vehicle collision Saturday in Gleason.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 from 4 p.m. – 8 pm and Wednesday at 10 a.m. until service time. Interment is at Caledonia Cemetery and Brother Jim Roberts will officiate.
Mr. Washburn was a retired employee of Atlantic Homes and Mrs. Washburn was a retired nurse. Both passed away at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin, where they were taken following the accident.
The Gleason Police Department investigated the accident, but the report has not been completed. The accident reportedly involved a collision with a farm vehicle.
He was born August 8, 1935 in Lexington, TN to the late Vester Arden and Ardell Dovie Ross Washburn.
She was born on September 30, 1942 in Weakley Co. to the late J.C. and Opal Rumley McCain.
He is survived by his daughter Kechia (Jason) Baucum, son Timothy Craig (Joann) Washburn, two sisters Arlene Washburn Davis and Louise Washburn Moore, sister in law Ramona Washburn, two brothers Fred (Hazel) Washburn and Wayford Washburn, Sr. six grandchildren Magen Elaine Washburn (Tyler), Jonathan Craig Washburn ( Mookie), Christy Whitten (Colton), Nathan Stanfill, Brooke Baucum and Brandon Baucum and one great- grandson Michael Whitten.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Alicia Dawn Washburn and two brothers James Lloyd Washburn and Leo Washburn.
She is survived by her daughter Kechia (Jason) Baucum, son Timothy Craig (Joann) Washburn, six grandchildren Magen Elaine Washburn (Tyler), Jonathan Craig Washburn ( Mookie), Christy Whitten (Colton), Nathan Stanfill, Brooke Baucum and Brandon Baucum and one great- grandson Michael Whitten.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Alicia Dawn Washburn.
