Paris, Tenn.–Paris Mayor Carlton Gerrell has been admitted to the hospital for COVID-19.
He made the announcement on his Facebook page Tuesday, noting, “I have been under the weather for the past eight or nine days. I had been to my Doctor and the health department and had negative COVID test at both. But finally came to the ER and was admitted last night for…COVID.”
He said he has “none of the normal symptoms you hear about, no breathing issues…just severe headaches and fever spikes.”
Last week, Gerrell had announced on Facebook that he and his wife, Dr. Norma Gerrell, Superintendent of the Paris Special Schools, were in quarantine for COVID.
Gerrell is a candidate for Henry County Mayor.
