wkley-brdband

Dresden, Tenn.–The Weakley County Commission will hold a special called commission meeting at 5:30 PM  Thursday, October 8th at Dresden Middle School. County Mayor Jake Bynum said the purpose of the meeting will be to discuss a resolution to support the expansion of high-speed broadband internet through a joint commitment of Weakley County Government and West Kentucky and Tennessee Telecommunication.

Bynum said, “While the Weakley County Commission has made some advancement to increase access, our community is far from having service in all parts of the county. Over the last five years, our office has advocated for expansion of service for various reasons. Additionally, many of you have called, emailed, or spoken with me about your individual needs to live, work, and learn. We are encouraging any citizen interested in hearing this discussion and showing your support of this project to attend Thursday night’s meeting. We also ask that you share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors who live in the unincorporated areas of the county.”

Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masks will be required at the meeting.
