McKenzie Man Charged With Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping

McKenzie, Tenn.–A McKenzie man was arrested on a long list of charges which include aggravated assault and kidnapping following an incident at the former McKenzie Inn.

Carlos L. Milton, age 35, of Highland Drive, McKenzie, is charged with a lengthy assault of a woman which resulted in the victim suffering multiple traumas to her face and body. After Milton and a companion Brittany Hill, age 29, also of Highland Drive, finally left her residence, the victim sought refuge at a home in Gleason. The victim was transported to Volunteer Hospital in Martin by the Weakley County Ambulance Service.

Milton is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, domestic assault, kidnapping, interfering with an emergency call, theft, vandalism, possession of drugs, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the report, Milton kicked in the apartment door and Hill took the victim’s phone and read her text messages. Milton beat down the bathroom door where the victim had gone and injured her in the process. The report indicates the assault stemmed from a rivalry between Milton and a member of another gang.

Milton and Hill took several items from the victim, including her pet cat and a bag with Bibles.

Hill was charged with aggravated burglary and theft.
