Stewart Co. Schools Switch To Remote Learning, Cancel All Sports

Dover, Tenn.–Due to a rapid rise in active COVID-19 cases in the county, Stewart County Schools is switching to all remote for the time being and all sports is cancelled for the rest of the week.

Fall Break runs from Friday, October 2, through Tuesday,  October 6, at which point remote learning will resume the rest of next week.

The decision was made in consultation with the Stewart County Health Department. A decision about returning to school in person October 12 will be made next week.

Director Mike Craig said all sports have been canceled for this week, including the high school’s football game for Friday.

Craig said high school golf team will still play in State tournament since they are already there.

Meals will continue for pickup on Tuesdays and Fridays.
