McKenzie, Tenn.–Bethel University Athletics is eager to welcome student-athletes back to
competition but has issued new protocols for athletic events. The protocols include: spectators are expected to wear face coverings, maintain social distancing and the venues will be set at 33 percent capacity.
The following is the statement from Bethel officials:
“While we look forward to getting back on the field of competition, we continue to work
through playing sports during these unprecedented times.
We hope to provide an opportunity for our extended Wildcat family to cheer on the Lady Cats and
Wildcats but how they are able to do so will look differently. In an effort to help keep our campus safe and open for our students to enjoy all of the aspects of campus life we have adjusted and put forth protocols for all events.
The new protocols apply to competitions played on the Bethel University campus until further notice.
Discussions are on-going for all competitions and those attendance policies will be adjusted as
circumstances change.
One of the biggest changes is that all venues on the campus will be limited to 33 percent capacity.
Additionally, in accordance with county, state, CDC and MSC guidelines regarding social distancing and large gatherings, spectators are expected to maintain six-feet apart inside each venue.
All fans attending games on campus will be instructed on what entrance ways are to be used. In
accordance with the Bethel campus policy, those in attendance for athletic events on campus will be
expected to wear a mask, or appropriate face covering, throughout the venues at all times.
Faculty/staff and student IDs will be accepted for admittance for all home athletic events. Only pass lists approved by Athletic Director’s Office and or Sports Information Office will be allowed…..
Each sport and venue protocols are listed on the main athletic site in the Inside Athletics section at
