KSP Investigating Early Morning Fatal Fire In Cadiz

Cadiz, Ky.–Kentucky State Police detectives responded early Thursday morning to a report of a residential structure fire on Will Jackson Road in Cadiz. Kentucky State Police, Post 1 dispatch was notified by Trigg County dispatch around 1:20 a.m. after a motorist reported the residence was fully engulfed. Cadiz and Trigg-Lyon County fire departments responded to the scene. After the fire was extinguished, a deceased body was located and removed by the Trigg County Coroner. An autopsy has been scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Friday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, Kentucky.

A state fire marshal from Bowling Green has met with detectives at the scene and has ruled the cause of the fire “undetermined.”

The investigation is ongoing at this time by Detective Cory Jessup. Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Trigg-Lyon Fire Department, Cadiz Fire Department, Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, Trigg County EMS, Trigg County Coroner’s Office, and Trigg County Rescue Squad.
