Union City, Tenn.–More than 40 teachers in the Union City School System have received classroom funding for projects via the DonorsChoose program and Tyson Foods.
Teachers were encouraged to submit requests of classroom essentials — including reading materials, equipment and technology — with a limit of $1,000 per classroom.
Computers, printers, cameras, musical instruments and tools, along with numerous books and subscriptions to magazines, are among the many learning materials headed the way of UC Schools’ classrooms and its students.
DonorsChoose is a nonprofit website that engages the public in public schools and is funded by corporations like Tyson and generous individuals in the community.
“We are very appreciative and blessed that so many of our teachers and their students will benefit from this wonderful gesture and opportunity,” said UC Schools Director of Teaching and Learning Rene Flood.
Teachers at all three Union City Schools campuses were recipients of the program.
