Dr. Bobby Jones To Be Honored Friday With State Music Pathways Marker

Paris, Tenn.–Gospel Legend Dr. Bobby Jones will be honored by the State of Tennessee with a new ‘Tennessee Music Pathways’ marker in downtown Paris Friday afternoon. And it will be an especially special day for him, since it’s his birthday.

The unveiling ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at the downtown plaza.

A Henry County native, Dr. Jones was awarded with both Grammy and Dove awards during his lengthy career which included both his long-playing gospel television programs and live appearances.

Dr. Jones now lives in Nashville and has returned home to Paris on numerous occasions for appearances and honors.

Launched by the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, in 2018, Tennessee Music
