Dyer Co. Inmates Escape After Overpowering Officer

Dyer County, Tenn.–Three inmates escaped from the Dyer County Jail after overpowering a Corrections Officer Sunday. One inmate was apprehended and two are still at large.

Michael Deshon Bolde and Antoine Lakeith Thomas are still being sought following their escape a few minutes after midnight.  They and Jashawn Branch overpowered the officer during an inmate count.

The Officer was treated for injuries at a local hospital and was released.

According to the press release, the inmates were able to exit the cell and then exit the building into a fenced yard. Inmates then scaled the 16 foot razor wire fence and were cut severely as seen by evidence left at the scene.

Inmate Jashawn Branch was apprehended by deputies on Fair Street at 12:41 a.m. when a deputy saw him trying to enter a residence. Branch was taken into custody without incident and had severe cuts that also required medical treatment.

Subjects have a history of assault and robbery charges. BOLOS were immediately sent to surrounding agencies and subjects are entered NCIC. This incident and procedures used are under investigation. Subjects may be bleeding and have severe cuts.
