Paris, Tenn.–The ‘Paris Paws and Rec’ Dog Park was formally dedicated Tuesday morning with the help of its benefactor UT President Randy Boyd. The Randy Boyd Foundation awarded grants to the city of Paris for the dog park, which includes obstacle courses, dog washing station, dog misters, people and dog water fountains, awnings for shaded areas, benches and more. Boyd complimented the city’s Parks and Recreation Department for ‘the incredible job you’ve done here. I’ve been to many of the dog parks that our Foundation funded and nobody has spent the money more wisely than you.” Also on hand for the dedication and ribbon-cutting were dogs of all sizes and shapes, including Paris Police K-9 officers Kinzee and Drago, along with city officials and Chamber members. The new sign at the entrance of the dog park –created by Sign and Trophy Express–was unveiled. The dog park is at the Atkins-Porter Rec Center at the corner of Walnut and Highland Streets.
