Big Sandy Man Escapes Serious Injury In Collision

Paris, Tenn.–A Big Sandy man escaped serious injury after a collision on Hwy. 69A Wednesday evening in which his vehicle landed upside down in the roadway.

Samuel Svonavec, age 60, received minor injuries from the crash.

According to the accident report released by THP Lt. Jena Eubanks, Svonavec was northbound when his vehicle veered off the left side of the road and he overcorrected to the right side, traveled off the right side, striking a drainage culvert and overturned in the middle of the roadway.

Both lanes were blocked as the first responders worked at the scene. Responding along with the THP was the Henry County Sheriff’s Office and Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.
