Paris, Tenn.–In a meeting at the Henry County Board of Education, Athletic Directors Mike Poteete and Renae Lassiter announced that the prohibition on contact sporting events and activities at the middle and high school levels will be lifted on August 10, 2020.
Players and coaches will be required to have temperature checks, wear masks or gaiters, and complete a well-assessment before they are able to practice and play.
Poteete said, “Circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic change on what seems to be a daily basis, and circumstances vary from one community to another which is the reason we are reporting on a weekly basis to our community.”
Ticket sales for Henry County High School Patriot Football will be available next week but the process will change this year. There will be a reduced number of tickets available for the season to allow for increased distancing of spectators. Returning reserved season ticket holders and parents of players will be offered a time to purchase tickets before the public sale of tickets. If a reserved seat holder from last year does not elect to purchase a season ticket for the 2020 season, the reserved seat holder will be offered a reserved seat for the ’21 season.
There will be no reserved seating this year as fans are asked to keep two seats apart in the stands. Families will be able to sit together and then space two seats from the next individual or family. Seating will be first come, first serve as will parking behind the stadium. Tickets will be non-refundable. More information about ticket sales will be released tomorrow. The Patriot’s first home game is scheduled for August 21 against Haywood County.
