Springville, TN – The Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge has announced a Virtual Hummingbird Banding Event to be held on Facebook Saturday, August 8.
“Since we couldn’t do our very popular Hummingbird Banding Event this year at the Visitor Center, we decided to bring it to a computer near you” says Ranger Joan Howe.
All day long next Saturday, August 8th, you can check online with the banding to learn about hummingbirds, see the banding process, and even do crafts and games for the family. The event will be hosted on Facebook.com/tennesseenwr.
Tenn NWR will once again have master bander Cyndi Routledge of the Southeastern Avian Research (SEAR) conduct our banding along with her crew, Mitz and LoraAnn Bailey.
The public will have a chance to ask questions of our bander or her crew on that day. Simply post a comment on one of the videos or email Joan_Howe@fws.gov with questions before 1:00 pm, and all questions will be answered during her last interview video!
