Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Schools Board of Education has called an emergency meeting for 10 a.m. Tuesday to discuss possible actions related to school opening.
Director of Schools Dr. Leah Watkins said, “With the rise in COVID-19 cases in Henry County, we need to get the board together and discuss all that we need to be doing to keep our students safe. That would include possible actions we can take, including delaying the start of the school year.”
Both the County Schools and Paris Special Schools District (PSSD) had already announced August 3 would be opening day for the 2020-2021 school year.
Tuesday’s emergency meeting will be held at the Henry County Transportation Garage meeting room at 215 Dudley St.
Masks are required for anyone attending the meeting.
