Paris, Tenn.–As of today the gym/basketball court at the Paris Civic Center will be closed until further notice.
In a Facebook post, city officials said, “Due to the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases in our community and in order to comply with CDC guidelines and our local health officials we must now take this action.
“It is impossible to social distance or wear a mask while engaging in a game of basketball. All other facilities/activities that were recently reopened will remain open, this includes the walking track.
‘We will continue to monitor the situation in our community and do our very best to make decisions to keep everyone as safe as possible. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we continue to navigate this situation we all find ourselves in.”
