Paris, Tenn.–Thursday was the last day for meals to be served under the Summer Feeding program in Henry County and at least 25,000 meals were served for students in the Henry County Schools and Paris Special Schools District in June and July.
Nutrition Supervisor Karen Wilson said, “I can’t say enough about this amazing group of ladies. They have worked diligently to provide summer meals to students in the Henry County School System as well as Paris Special School District. Job well done, ladies.”
Wilson said, “Summer feeding is my passion. We’ve been very fortunate to serve students in both school systems this summer and are thankful for our serving sites which include local churches, the Family Resource Center, W. G. Rhea Library, and each one of our Henry County schools.”
Serving sites offered three days of breakfasts and lunches on Mondays and Thursdays of each week for students to have meals for the entire week. Henry County schools are set to open on August 3, 2020 for the first day of school. Free breakfast is offered to all students.
