Former Henry County Man Charged With Threatening To Blow Up Courthouse

Paris, Tenn.–A former Henry County man is in custody after reportedly threatening to blow up the courthouse and for making threatening and vulgar comments to courthouse employees Thursday.

Brian Neu, age 52, now of Jackson, is being held on $250,000 bond in the Henry County Jail.

According to the press release from the sheriff’s office, Neu is charged with one count each of criminal attempt to commit a terroristic act, aggravated assault and harassment.

These charges stem from an investigation Thursday which revealed that Neu called the Henry County Courthouse and made threats to “blow it up”. According to the press release, Neu had called numerous times and made vulgar threatening remarks to employees which placed them in fear for their safety.

In addition to these charges Neu also had outstanding warrants for assault which stemmed from threats made to courthouse employees at an earlier date. Neu is being held on $250,000 bond and will appear in court on July 28th.
