
McKenzie, Tenn.–McKenzie City officials have announced that a downtown
building that burned in 2012 is available for retail and economic
development. The burned-out building is the former Impressions store that
was destroyed by fire in December 2012.
The winning applicant will receive ownership of the building, as is, for
$5,000.
All interested applicants must submit a business plan to Main Street
McKenzie, 2470 Cedar St. McKenzie, TN 38201. The plan needs to include the
architectural and design plans for the building, usage, and definite
timeline.
The building is located in the historic zoning district and all
construction must receive a certificate of appropriateness in order to
proceed. Deadline to receive applications is Friday, August 7, 2020, at
4:00 p.m. The winning applicant will be notified by Friday, August 14th.
