Paris, Tenn.–Five huge bridge beams arrived in Paris this morning for the Hwy. 641N project. According to David “Tater” Hayes of the J.R. Hayes Co., the beams are 125 feet long and weigh close to 50 tons each. The bridge beams were brought into town on oversize loads from Hwy. 79S through Veterans Drive and to Rison St. The $26M, 2.7-mile project is widening Hwy. 641 from two lanes to five lanes from near Rison Street to Smith Road. The project also includes a curb and gutter section throughout most of the nearly three miles. (Shannon McFarlin photo).
