
Samburg, Tenn.–A Tiptonville couple were arrested by the Obion County Sheriff Drug Interdiction investigators after a large quantity of meth was observed inside the vehicle.
Justin Lamont Clay, age 33, and Maranda Jean Joyce, age 40, were charged with a variety of drug charges after their car was stopped in Samburg.
According to the press release, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted revealing 1.1 grams of marijuana, 8 Diazepam pills, 19.4 grams of crystal meth, a digital scale, and a box of sandwich bags which is all consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics.
During the on-scene investigation it was revealed that Clay also had an active order of protection against him and his Tennessee driver’s license was revoked.
Clay is charged with Possession of Schedule 2 with Intent, Simple possession of Schedule 6, schedule 4, Driving on revoked 4th offense, and Violation order of protection. Joyce was charged with Possession of Schedule 2 with Intent, Simple Possession Schedule 6, and schedule 4. In addition, $4,540.00 of U.S. currency was taken in as evidence.
