Paris, Tenn.–Meeting Thursday evening, the Paris Municipal Regional Planning Commission recommended approval of a rezoning request and a request to acquire property. Both recommendations for approval–one involving an E. Blythe property and the other involving a Lankford Rd. property–were forwarded to the City Commission.
Mike Weatherford, owner of Mike’s Mufflers, requested property at 203 E. Blythe St. be rezoned from R-3-H (multi family high density) to TRB (Transitional Residental Business). The property is between two existing residences.
Weatherford has purchased this property and will be demolishing the existing dilapidated
structure that is currently creating issues for the surrounding properties due to rodents, wild
animals, etc. The property is across the street from his business and he intends to utilize the property for parking for his business.
After discussion, planners recommended that all of the properties on that block be rezoned TRB.
In other business, Elizabeth Campbell of 312 Lankford Rd. has requested acquisition of the undeveloped right of way –which is a small strip of land–adjacent to her property. Planners forwarded their recommendation that it be approved by the city commission.
