Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam letter being sent through the mail claiming to be from the DOT Compliance Group. The letter is asking for citizens with a Department of Transportation number to go a website and file a Biennial Update with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Once at the website you will be asked for your DOT number and your credit card information.
THIS IS A SCAM! Do not go to the website and do not give your credit card information. As always anyone who receives a scam letter such as this or suspects a scam is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office before giving out any of their information!
