Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart County Detention Center now has Ankle Monitor Systems available.
Sheriff Frankie Gray said the ankle monitors can be used for some inmates in the work release program. The use of these monitors will be very limited but are another great tool for the Detention Center.
Gray explained the monitors can be used on inmates with severe health conditions and other inmates for a variety of reasons determined by the courts. These monitors when used will provide constant surveillance on inmates’ locations, times and will send alerts on any violations.
Inmates who have committed violent crimes or could be considered a risk to the public will not be eligible to wear the ankle monitor.
