
Paris, Tenn.–A Paris man was arrested Saturday night near Buchanan for shooting a firearm while intoxicated.
Griffin McCord, age 22, of 125 Castleton Cove, was arrested by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office on Shamrock Rd. around 11 a.m.
According to the report, Sgt. Jim sanders responded to Shamrock Road on a call about reckless endangerment. Family members and witnesses said McCord was under the influence and confrontational and took a swing at one person who pushed him into the lake.
When McCord tried to get into his car family members blocked him from leaving on his own, at which point McCord pointed a pistol and fired in the direction of one of the men trying to block him from driving.
McCord was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, domestic assault, possession of a firearm while intoxicated and public intoxication. His bond was set at $15,000.
