Music Legend Charlie Daniels died Monday morning after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke at the age of 83.
The Nashville Tennessean is reporting that Daniels’ death was confirmed by his publicist, Don Murry Grubbs. He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and son Charlie Daniels, Jr.
He is best known for his number-one country hit “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”. Daniels has been active as a singer and musician since the 1950s. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
