McKenzie, Tenn.–McKenzie Firefighters quickly found the source of a fire Wednesday afternoon at the Maverick Quick Stop.
Firefighters were called to 15300 Highland Drive at 5:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the front doors and roof vents. They dropped a 5 inch supply line going in and the hose crew made entry through the front door and began looking for the fire.
A pile of straw piled around the water and gas meters had ignited and the fire was directly next to the HVAC unit which was drawing the smoke directly into the vent system in the store.
Minor damage to the soffit and roof directly above the fire and no injuries.
