
Today, Rep. David Kustoff (TN-08), announced $11,200,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to the Tennessee Department of Transportation Project for Fayette, Haywood, Madison, Henderson, Carroll, Decatur, Benton, Humphreys, Hickman, and Dickson Counties. With this funding, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will install approximately 143 miles of fiber optic communications and deploy ITS devices on I-40 between Memphis and Nashville. The ITS devices include CCTV Cameras, dynamic message signs, road weather sensors, and connected vehicle roadside units.
“I-40 is a critical corridor for interstate commerce and vital to West Tennessee’s economy. I would like to thank Secretary Elaine Chao for this investment and for keeping the Volunteer State a top priority in the Administration,” said Rep. Kustoff.
