Four Area Nursing Homes Report COVID-19 Positive Cases

covid-test-positive

In addition to the 13 COVID-19 positive cases already reported at the Puryear nursing home, the State Department of Health is also listing other area long-term care facilities as having clusters of positive cases.

As we reported last week, The Farms nursing home in Puryear has 13 COVID-19 positive cases among both staff and residents. The Farms Administrator Zach Bell told RadioNWTN last week that all of the residents are asymtomatic and are doing well. Staff members who have tested positive are quarantined in their homes and the residents who tested positive are being isolated, he said.

Other area nursing homes now on the state’s listing of clusters in long-term care facilities include two in Gibson County and one in Lake County:

Bailey Park Community Living Center, Humboldt, Gibson County, 7 positive cases.

NHC Health Care, Milan, Gibson Co., 3 cases.

Reelfoot Manor, Tiptonville, Lake Co., 2.

The state’s listing includes Nursing Homes, Assisted Care Living Facilities, and Residential Homes for the Aged which are licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health and have had two or more confirmed COVID-19 cases in residents or staff within 2 incubation periods (or 28 days).
