Paris, Tenn.–The Henry County High School Catfish Statue has reported for duty. The statue–which was designed and created by students in Teacher Greg Chandler’s art class–has been placed in its permanent spot next to the flag pole at the entrance to Henry County High School.
Principal Michele Webb said several people who were on hand for Friday night’s 2020 Seniors Photo Gallery also stopped and had their photos taken with the Catfish Statue. “It really worked out well, with the Photo Gallery happening and it was the same day we received the new American flag to put on the flag pole,” she said.
Placement of the Statue was delayed while construction at the new entrance was ongoing.
The Statue was designed by Students Ivy Wang, Alex Tanner and Alyssa Wilson. Advisor for the project was Paris Artist Dan Knowles. TCAT students applied the clear coating. (Shannon McFarlin photos).
