Puryear, Tenn.–Paris Board of Public Utilities workers have been hard at work this afternoon repairing a downed power pole and power outage in Puryear. As many as 1000 customers have been without power this afternoon, but by 4 p.m., that number was around 250.
Around 2 pm BPU received notification of the broken pole and downed wire on 641 N. across from Puryear Baptist Church. BPU Communications Specialist Meagan Hart said, “At that time we had roughly 1,000 customers without power. We were able to re-route electricity and reduce the number of customers without power from 1,000 to roughly 250.”
As of 4 pm, crews continue to work and have traffic on 641 N restricted to one lane in front of Puryear Baptist Church while they work to make the repair. Hart said, “We estimate power will be fully restored and traffic flow back to normal around 5 pm.”
