Buchanan, Tenn.–The annual July 4 fireworks event at Paris Landing State Park–which always draws hundreds of visitors–will not be held this year.
Park Manager Zach Tinkle said this morning the official decision has been made to cancel. “In the interest of public safety, we will not be having the 4th of July fireworks this year,” he said.
On Tuesday, Tinkle said the official decision was still pending at that point, although officials were leaning toward cancellation.
The Paris Landing fireworks traditionally are conducted by the Paris-Henry Co. Jaycees.
