Stewart County Courthouse To Reopen May 6

Dover, Tenn.–The Stewart County Courthouse will reopen Wednesday, May 6.

 

County Mayor Robin Brandon said the courthouse will be open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until further notice, which will allow for deep cleaning and court sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, all offices within the courthouse will be staffed and available by phone and email.

 

Everyone will be required to follow proper procedure, including entering and exiting through the main door, signing in and out, and being screened for COVID-19 symptoms. Patrons are recommended to wear CDC-approved masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. All of these precautions are to keep the employees and public as safe as possible.

 

Grand jury is scheduled for May 4. Only members of the public having court business will be allowed in the courthouse on that day.

 

Starting May 4, the Public Library will be open for curbside services only and no patrons will be allowed inside. More information can be found on their Facebook page.

 

Veterans Service Office will reopen on May 4 for appointments. At this time, there will be no Monday walk-in services. More information can be found on their Facebook page.

 

The Mayor’s Office will continue to be staffed, but the lobby is closed to the public. Staff is available by phone, email and appointment.

 

The Visitor Center will remain closed. Questions regarding the Visitor Center should be directed to the Mayor’s Office.

 

The Sheriff’s Office is available by appointment only and the lobby is closed.

 

The Election Commission is by appointment only.
